Once upon a time there was this ambassador to the United Nations from the United States of America who was not qualified and had a short temper like bull in a china shop. He angered and put-off every delegate in one way or another. Every day he made insolent demands and arrogant claims, and totally ignored the customs of other cultures and insulted everyone. One day the United Nations delegates from around the world decided to meet somewhere else besides New York but they didn't tell the American and they didn't invite him either. They quietly passed the word around among themselves to meet in an undisclosed location somewhere in the Middle East.
The agenda of the meeting was The North America Question. What should they do with North America? One delegate said "North America sends its poor into battle for the benefit its oil companies and global agribusiness." Another delegate said "They loan huge amounts of money to developing countries at huge interest rates, but turn a blind eye to the personal expenses of the leaders of those very same countries.
The delegate from China spoke up and said "They conned hundreds of thousands of our people to emigrate to America to be worked to death building their railroads. Now they have sweat shops in our own country that compete with one-another until their prices are so low that they sacrifice worker safety and wages."
"Globalization will make the American people see what their corporate masters have inflicted on them and the rest of us. They will have to lower their own wages until the suffering awakens them. Then the deception of what they believe is Democracy will be swept away."
"We can no longer tolerate their violence. We can no longer cower under their technologically superior thumb."
Still another delegate lowered and shook his head from side to side and said "They have interrupted all of our efforts for prosperity. I wonder if we should be greatful that our land, water, and air are not poisoned like theirs is?"
"They are weak now because their forces are thinned."
"They have distorted Democracy into Corporatocracy, a twisted form of Plutocracy."
"Their own people are getting fed up with the greed of their employers."
"We have to be clear that the American people are not directly responsible for the actions of a few powerful corporations. We must focus our efforts on those who are directly responsible for the damage to our nations and the world."They sat in silence for a while, then decided that they would start by closing their investment accounts in the United States.
The End
